Most of my professional career has been involved with filmmaking, film analysis or film teaching. My doctoral thesis is a synthesis of film theory, jurisprudence, politics and filmmaking practice that attempts to achieve a broader understanding of all the forces that influence the production and ‘message’ of a Hollywood feature film and how that message is communicated.

The knowledge and experience gained through this research will hopefully enable me to more fully and efficiently practice filmmaking and the communication of ideas through the visual media in my future career, encompassing feature films, TV, commercials and political communication.
