This PhD by project examines fashion design aesthetics identifiable on traces left by fashion designers and users through the perspective of a fashion designer. Employing Walter J Ong’s notion of orality as a possible analytical framework, I aim to establish critical engagement with fashion design practice. In particular, by looking at the space in-between clothing and a body, both theoretically and practically, I aim to explore the fundamental aesthetics of fashion design in which the clothing and the body are harmonised.
